Suspended member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) now a social commentator Bernard Allotey Jacobs has advised Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen to withdraw from the NPP flagbearership race or forfeit to become speaker of Ghana’s parliament in 2024. According to Mr Jacobs, it will be very easy for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the NPP to victory in 2024."The NPP should select Vice-President Bawumia as its flagbearer in 2024 for a one-touch victory.” “The only person who can worry Bawumia is Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen but I think Alan should adopt Joe Biden of America’s style. The leadership of the party must quickly set in to talk to him to withdraw from the race. So they appoint him speaker should they break the 8-year chain, or else what happened in 2008 that cost their victory is likely to happen again,” he told Don Kwabena Prah on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben. Meanwhile, other fractions in the NPP are seriously lobbying for Alan Kyeremanten to lead the party in

Covid-19 variants pose 'real threat' to vaccine progress, CDC warns

"We have the ability to stop a potential fourth surge of cases in this country. Please stay strong in your conviction," she said. Please hear me clearly: at this level of cases, with variants spreading, we stand to completely lose the hard-earned ground we have gained," Dr Walensky said. "These vari

Man City face defining week as appeal against European ban begins

Manchester City head into one of the biggest weeks in their recent history, knowing their reputation, their Champions League place and, possibly, the make-up of their squad are on the line. On Monday, their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) against their two-year ban from European club competition begins. On 14 February, Uefa’s Club Financial Control Body (CFCB)  banned City  and fined the club 30m euros (£25m) after ruling it had committed “serious breaches” of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations between 2012 and 2016. The CFCB also said City had failed to cooperate with the investigation. City immediately signalled their intention to appeal to Cas. They believe the CFCB was not independent and ended up being distrustful of it, partly due to the amount of secretive information the club felt was leaked to the media. They are adamant that what they consider an independent judiciary will clear them. The appeal will be heard by three Cas lawyers, held in private

I don’t watch Ghanaian TV much. I watch a little... one, two, three, and I say Oh nothing has changed, go back. I will watch animals. I’ll watch cheetah, I’ll watch lion, I’ll watch antelope anytime... I’ll watch giraffes anytime because at least they’ll tell me how to hunt, how to get to your goal, how to avoid being eaten. I’ll learn that from an antelope. At least I’d come back and say: nobody will eat me," he said.  Two years down and Sam George says it is time for Otabil to stop 'watching animals' and address the 'rot' in the country.  The Ningo Prampram MP who was interact
