Ghana Premier League will not break during Black Stars weekend – GFA

  T he Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the Premier League will not be taking a break to accommodate the Black Stars upcoming FIFA World Cup  qualifier's. There were .There were doubts about whether the highest governing body of football in the country will suspend the league until the Black Stars’ games against Ethiopia and South Africa are played.  But the GFA is keen to continue the Premier League during the international break. The decision to not suspend the league was made known through communication director of the GFA, Henry Asante Twum, during an interview with Ahomka Sports. “The league just started last week.    Former Ghana captain, Stephen Appiah has revealed that no player in the Black Stars could ever challenge his decision to take a penalty kick during his time with the national team. Appiah captained the Black Stars from 2003 to 2010 and was a kingpin for the national team. Uefa keen on sporting merit qualification method for European competitions Uefa has urged clubs to "explore all possible options" to finish domestic seasons and use "a different format" if needed in order for teams to qualify for European competitions. European football's governing body wants clubs to qualify for European competitions through "sporting merit". Pep Guardiola: Manchester City manager donates 1m euros to fight corona virus . Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has donated 1m euros (£920,000) to fight the coronavirus outbreak in Spain. Guardiola, who is at his home in Barcelona, has been working with his lawyers over the past few days to work out the best way of using the money. It will go to a campaign being promoted by the Medical College of Barcelona and the Angel Soler Daniel Foundation. Spain is one of the worst affected countries in Europe. Official figures on Tuesday showed that  2,696 people had died  in the country and close to 40,000 are infected. The money will be used to help purchase medical equipment and protective material for the hospital staff involved in treating those admitted to hospital.
