UPDATE- Konongo Odumase Senior High School Murder Suspects Remanded Into Police Custody

 Five juvenile suspects have been sent to a juvenile detention centre at Juaboso in the Ashanti Akim South Municipality of the Ashanti Region. Emmanuel Osei Frimpong was charged with murder while the four were charged with abetting crime. According to the Konongo Divisional police Commander, Chief Supt. Shaibu Osei spoke to journalists after the court proceedings. He explained that, the five juvenile suspects, Emmanuel Osei Frimpong alias Tupac, Akwasi Amoah Karikari alias Demon, Kwame Afrane Snr, Kwame Afrane Jnr and Obed Agyei,    standing trial for their roles in allegedly stabbing a Form One student leading to his death, were arraigned at the District Court, which also serves as a Juvenile Court, today, Monday, November 8, presided over by Her Worship Miss Joyce Bamfo on provisional charges of Abetment of Murder, and Murder Contrary to Sections 20 and 46 of the Criminal Offences Act (Act 29). All five suspects are to reappear on Monday, November 15, 2021.

24-year-old Ghanaian unemployed man jailed 14 years for stealing plantain and cassava worth GH¢50

A 24-year-old Ghanaian unemployed man will turn 38 years old by the time he finishes serving a 14-year jail term handed him by the Tepa Circuit Court for stealing plantain & cassava worth GH¢50. According to the Ghana News Agency, Justice Ezekiel, pleaded guilty to stealing the food items from a farm at Akwasiase, near Tepa in the Ahafo Ano North District. The court presided over by Gwendolyn Millicent Owusu in its wisdom then sentenced the young man on his own plea to almost a decade and a half year imprisonment. The court heard that on September 5th, 2021, the convict had gone to harvest the plantain and the cassava secretly. However, luck eluded him while he was loading them into a sack and the owner of the farm caught him red-handed. Police Chief Inspector, Jonas Newlove Agyei told the court that Ezekiel was handed over to the Tepa police station together with the stolen foodstuff. He added that the suspect who is an ex-convict confessed to the crime in his caution statement. H

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has dragged the Minister of Finance to Parliament to account for the cost of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s recent trips to France, Belgium, and South Africa. According to a publication from Parliament, the question has been programmed to be answered, but the specific day for the response has not been scheduled yet. The North Tongu MP has alleged that President Akufo-Addo chartered a luxurious private jet for the said trips. Spiritualist Kwaku Bonsam has cautioned Ghanaians to be cautious of people advertising money-doubling schemes by so-called ritualists on television and social media. He explained that there is no such thing as money-doubling in the world adding these self-acclaimed spiritualists who are promising such to victims are fraudsters. Political activist Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as A-Plus has described Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah as a very ungrateful politician. The spread of highly contagious coronavirus variants is threatening to fuel a "potential fourth surge of cases" in the US, a top health official has warned.
