Charles Taylor

CHARLES TAYLOR RENDERED UNQUALIFIED APOLOGY TO DR. NYAHO NYAHO TAMAKLOE FOR USING “ARCHAIC” WORD ON HIM.

Former player of the continental club masters Charles Taylor today on Kumasi FM apologized to the former GFA chairman, retired military officer and former medical doctor and board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe after the club issued a release condemning the utterances by the two legends of the club Dan Quaye and Charles Taylor recently for taking the board member out of context in an interview with Wallace on Asempa FM and bashing him with all manner of unpalatable words. Taylor had this to say;
“In our part of the word,sharing your view on comments made by an elderly is misconstrued for insults.You kill the talents and career of returnee players if you block them from rejoining the club. I was only being blunt and not out of hatred,I want the progress of the club instead.”
“I am surprised by the statement from Hearts of Oak. Even the president of the country is insulted. I have not insulted Dr Nyaho Tamakloe. Saying he is archaic isn’t an insult because it’s obvious he’s aged. I have no problem with him, he can’t even recognize me. He’s my neighbour at Spintex,I have to introduce myself to him anytime I see him.”
“I’m sorry if he’s offended by my description of him as being archaic but he cannot block professionals from rejoining the club.”
The member of the famous Accra Hearts of Oak 64 battalions has vowed not to get involved in matters concerning the club going forward.
“The pain from my move to Kotoko is something still hunting the current leaders of the club. I cannot be barred from commenting on issues at the club but I will keep mute on their issues henceforth.” He added.

Government can’t afford to reduce taxes on fuel; we’ll lose GH¢4bn revenue –Prez Akufo-Addo.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has dismissed calls on the government to reduce taxes on petroleum products. He said taking such an action will significantly affect the government’s revenues. Addressing the 2022 May Day parade at the Independence Square in Accra, he said the government risks losing about GH¢4 billion if it makes any such move. He added that it is even more untenable because the government is rather looking for more avenues to raise money. “Removing taxes on petroleum products will reduce government revenues by some GH¢4 billion. At this time, when we are determined to expand government revenues in order to increase our capacity to finance our own development, can we afford to reduce tax revenues by GH¢4 billion?” he quizzed. Fuel prices in Ghana have risen sharply in Ghana in the last six months, although they have stayed the same for almost a month. Amidst the numerous complaints from consumers that the situation is causing a strain on their finances as th...
